project. Sometimes, it’s nice to dream when we are planning our engines. It’s nice to know what’s
out there. Whether you are building a budget small-block or a powerful engine for the track, the
aftermarket offers a world of options designed to make your project a smashing success.

MSD’s Pro-Billet distributor is
what you want when it’s time to
belly up to the big table. This is
the world’s first billet distributor.
MSD concluded that making a
distributor from one piece of
billet aluminum ensured
reliability under the toughest of
conditions – and accuracy to
within 0.001 inch! Because this
is a magnetic-pick-up ignition, it
is extremely accurate – every
time.
If you’re going to build a lot of engines, this cam-
degreeing kit from Lunati Cams is a nice complement to
your tool and equipment arsenal. A degree wheel and
pointer enable you to know valve and piston timing
events in great detail. If you’re building just one engine,
we suggest renting one of these locally.
Holley’s Street Dominator dual-plane intake manifold for a small block Ford stroker kit from Scat 
Enterprises for a small block Ford
Holley’s Street Dominator dual-plane intake
manifold is the perfect manifold for mild
engine builds where four-barrel carburetion
and good low-end torque are important. This
really isn’t a high-rise manifold, but its long
runners and low profile help your small-block
make torque while keeping it all underneath
the hood. You can even run a stock air
cleaner on top of this manifold when you use
the Holley 4160 (1850 series) carburetor.
If you want to pump more power into your
small-block Ford building without having
to give up your first born, consider the
purchase of a stroker kit from Scat
Enterprises. Stroker kits range from
simple, affordable nodular-iron cranks
with I-beam rods to billet cranks with
H-beam rods. Forged or hypereutectic
pistons are also available. The choice is
yours, depending on budget.

Holley’s SysteMax engine performance
system for small-block Fords is available a
couple of different ways for both carbureted
and fuel-injected small-blocks. Shown here
is the carbureted version, with a Weiand
Stealth dual-plane intake manifold, Holley
heads, a hot Lunati roller camshaft, and
more! When you opt for the fuel-injected
version, you get the fuel pump, larger
throttle body and mass-air sensor, and a
whole lot more! This is a nice package that
works very well together.
You can pick up some bonus bolt-on power
from an ATI Procharger. Just look at this ATI
Procharger intercooled centrifugal
supercharger kit, scheduled for installation
in Mustang Monthly magazine! ATI tells us
this intercooled kit can add 50 to 85 percent
more power to your small-block Ford,
depending on how you build your engine.
This burst of power comes from a great
centrifugal design that is a proven industry
standard, and the intercooler will cool down
the intake charge, keeping things under
control. Use this power responsibly and
come out a winner.
