Ford GT40 and GT Ultimate Portfolio 1964-2006

Built to take on Ferrari at Le Mans, the GT40 began its race career in 1964 and continued into the 70s. The Ford GT40 had English roots, beginning its life as a Ford V8 Lola GT which competed at Le Mans in 1963 which impressed Ford. When released in Dearborn the GT40 might have looked sensational but its aerodynamic performance left much to be desired, as did its reliability under race conditions.
In 1966 came the much modified Mk.2 version and with this car success started to come Ford’s way with wins at Daytona and Sebring. It was also the year when Henry Ford's dream was realized when three GT40s finished 1-2-3 at Le Mans. Although the GT40 continued to be raced after 1967 it was with private teams rather than from Ford itself, where it became a legend in its own lifetime. Recently Ford has produced a limited volume modern-day replica - forty years young and still a magnet for enthusiasts whenever seen at a motoring event. This is a collection of road tests, model introductions and driving impressions. Included are full specifications and history.

How to Autocross How to Autocross covers everything you need to know to get behind the wheel and start autocrossing. It covers basic modifications such as tire pressures, alignment, and dampers, to more advanced modifications that go beyond the stock classes. Because autocross is a test of driver skill, there is a heavy emphasis on driving and car control, with coverage on accelerating, braking, weight transfer, shifting, corners, slaloms, and finding that perfect line. Information is also included on car classes, driver schools, data logging, how events are typically run, and how to find events in your area. If you would like to start racing on a budget, and want to have a blast on weekends showing off your car and your driving skills, How to Autocross is a great guide to get you started!
