Jaguar MkI & MkII Saloons
90 superb original color photographs Brief background
history of the company Full story of the Mkll Basic
specification and statistics Quotes, and interesting facts and
feats Jaguars small saloon car was introduced in 1955 to
complement the companys successful sports cars and luxury
saloons; it was the marques first monocoque-bodied
production car. The Mkll was launched four years later, at
which time the first car became known retrospectively as the
Mkl. The Mkll 3.8 was one of the fastest production cars of its
time, making it a favorite on the race track as well as on the
roads. The cars were all finished to a high standard of luxury
in wood and leather. This quintessentially British car was
also popular elsewhere in the world, especially in the US.

The Little Book of E-Type Jaguar
The E-type Jaguar captured the imagination of car
enthusiasts the world over with its sleek, stunning looksand
exhilarating performance. It was an instant sensation and a
winner for Jaguar for 14 years. The E-type caused a stir when
it was launched more than 40 years ago, and its no surprise
that this stylish British sports car still has the ability to turn
heads today. Manufactured by Jaguar between 1961 and
1975, the E-type had a competitive edge second to none.
First, it was priced well below other sports cars of its time,
which enabled Jaguar to sell in excess of 70,000 vehicles in
their 14-year reign with the E-type, and second, it was a fast
car. Enzo Ferrari described the E type as: "The most beautiful
car ever made."

Jaguar XK8 & XKR Portfolio 1996-2005
Jaguar's E-type was so good that designing and developing
a successor was always going to be difficult. The XK8,
released in 1996, brought renewed credibility to Jaguar Cars.
It looked like a Jaguar should - sleek, low with sensuous
carves in all the right places. Three years later Jaguar
announced the XKR, a supercharged and
honed-and-tightened version of the XK8. Various special XKs
were built during its long production life and it had a 'sister' car
in the lovely Aston Martin DB7 that took features from both it
and the XJ-S. The XK8 remained in production until 2005
when it was replaced by the next generation that borrowed
heavily from it.
